    The Board, Pieces, and How They Move

    Opening Principles

    Control the centre, develop pieces, castle, avoid common traps.

    Short games practicing the first 6–8 moves.

    Plays a sensible opening without giving away pieces.

    Tactics and Pattern Recognition
